Villa Tramonto: a state-of-the-art restoration

Parts of the stone-built farmhouse had collapsed over the years and in 2007, it was completely restored. The work was carried out by the construction company Icerm, a benchmark for luxury renovations in the area.

This top quality intervention was commissioned by Daniela Mazzuoli, owner of Villa Tramonto: «It has always been a family home. It remained deserted for a long time, but then around the year 2000, we decided to bring it back to life, respectfully keeping the characteristic features of local farmhouses in the area. The company Icerm has really carried out a first-class job. We also chose furniture and accessories in the rustic, Tuscan style. The estate was originally called Il Sasso: in fact, the farmhouse was built on an enormous rock, which became part of the foundations. We left one section as a reminder of this feature. The name we chose for our hospitality structure, Villa Tramonto, was inspired by the spectacular sunsets you can enjoy from here. It stands in an extraordinary position.»

The work brought the building back to life by paying special attention to the use of traditional, Tuscan materials from the stone to the Roman roof tiles, from the flat tiles to the old bricks. The old farmhouse was made safe with new foundations and anti-seismic techniques. All the rooms have air conditioning and mosquito nets in all the wood-framed, double-glazed windows.

«I lived here until the age of 14 – Daniela Mazzuoli tells us – and I’m still emotionally attached with many family memories. Today, for personal reasons, we have decided to sell the hospitality structure as soon as we find the right person. It will certainly be a very significant moment. Over time, life follows new paths and other needs, however a piece of my heart is, and always will be there. Villa Tramonto is first and foremost a moral inheritance.»

Villa Tramonto is swathed in an incredible sense of peace in a secluded area amidst nature. However, it is not too isolated, as it’s a stone’s throw away by car from the town centres: 8 minutes to get to Sarteano, 12 minutes to Radicofani, 20 minutes to Chianciano or San Casciano dei Bagni and the same to Pienza. A truly central location in splendid Val d’Orcia.

Villa Tramonto is pure immersion in natural beauty.
